My Own Keys ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use the My Own Keys mobile application ("App").
1. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: email address and password (stored as a secure hash) when you register.
- Moving session data: details about your move sessions, item photos, tasks, and milestones that you create within the App.
- Photos and camera: images you capture or select to document properties and move-related items. The App accesses device resources as follows:
- Camera: used to photograph rooms and features of properties you are viewing (for example, capturing the kitchen or garden of a house to keep a visual record as you compare homes). Photos taken through the camera are stored within the App and, where you are signed in, uploaded securely to our servers.
- Photo library (read access): used to let you select existing photos from your device and attach them to property records or move checklist items (for example, choosing a photo you already took of a property's exterior to add it to that home's entry in the App). We do not access any photos beyond those you explicitly select.
- Photo library (save access): used when you choose to save a property photo from the App back to your device's camera roll (for example, saving a room photo taken during a viewing so you can share it with family or keep it alongside your other photos). We only write to your photo library when you explicitly tap the save button.
- Purchase information: subscription and payment data processed through Apple's App Store and RevenueCat. We do not receive or store your full payment card details; Apple handles all billing.
- Usage data: last-active timestamps and general app activity to maintain your account session.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the App's features and functionality.
- To manage your account and authenticate you securely.
- To process and manage your subscription via RevenueCat and Apple's In-App Purchase system.
- To respond to your support requests.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Purchases & RevenueCat
My Own Keys uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. When you make a purchase, RevenueCat receives transaction metadata from Apple (such as product identifiers, purchase dates, and subscription status) in order to validate and manage your subscription. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.
All payment transactions are processed by Apple. We do not store credit card numbers or other full payment details.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- RevenueCat: to validate and manage your in-app purchases.
- Apple: through standard App Store and In-App Purchase flows.
- Service providers: hosting and infrastructure providers that process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations.
- Legal authorities: when required by applicable law or to protect our rights.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and session data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account and associated data by contacting us (see Section 9). Photos and session data are deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures (HTTPS, hashed passwords, access controls) to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Children's Privacy
My Own Keys is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us so we can delete it.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
